The Fortifications of the Northern Istra
I'd like to thank to rofessor Zdravko Mlinar of Ljubljana who has brought to our attention the work done by his colleague from Koper, historian Darko Darovec, who has been exploring the fortifications on the old border between Austrian Empire and Republic of Venice.
This has so far been almost completely unknown area, but all being well some details shall soon be presented also on this site. The map bellow is published thanks to the permission by Mr Darko Darovec.

Mejne utrdbe v severni Istri
Rad bi se zahvalil rofesorju Zdravku Mlinarju iz Ljubljane nas je opozoril na delo koprskega zgodovinarja Darka Darovca, ki med drugim raziskuje tudi utrdbe na nekdanji meji med avstrijskim cesarstvom in benesko republiko.
To je bilo razen redkih izjem, kot je stolp v Lokvah, sirsi javnosti doslej popolnoma neznano podrocje, upajmo pa, da bo vec podatkov o tej temi zelo kmalu na voljo tudi na tej strani. Za prilozeni zemljevid se zahvaljujem gospodu Darku Darovcu.
