This year (2008) the annual FSG tour took place in Slovenia and it's surrounds. It was facilitated by Ad Pirum Institute. Six excursions were organised in such a way as to give the participants the best possible overview of the fortifications in the area. The booklet (guide) Slovenian Fortification was also printed by the Ad Pirum Institute for the occasion.
Bellow you will find some photos and fragments from the report by Alistair Graham Kerr which will be published in the September issue of the Casemate. I'm thanking the author and the Casemate editor for permission to use this report and their photos on this regional SITEO web site.

The FSG is an international society formed in 1975 at Pembroke College, Oxford. It is concerned with the study of all aspects of military architecture and fortifications and their armaments, especially works constructed to mount and resist artillery. The FSG publishes a journal, FORT, and its magazine Casemate is published three times a year. Annually the FSG holds a Conference in September over a long weekend with visits and evening lectures, a Tour abroad over about seven days, and a Membersą Day.For further details please visit our website at www.fsgfort.com

Letos (2008) je redna letna ekskurzija FSG potekala v Sloveniji. Pri organizaciji je sodeloval zavod Ad Pirum. Sest izletov je bilo organiziranih tako, da so dali udelezencem kar najboljsi mozni pregled utrdbene dediscine v Sloveniji in njeni bliznji okolici. Zavod Ad Pirum je za to priloznost izdal tudi knjigo (vodnik) Utrdbe na Slovenskem.

FSG je mednarodno utrdboslovno zdruzenje, ustanovljeno leta 1975 na Pembroke College v Oxfordu z namenom preucevanja vseh vidikov vojaske oziroma utrdbene arhitekture in njene opreme oziroma oborozitve, s povdarkom na arhitekturi, zgrajeni za zascito topnistva ozirome za zascito pred njim. Zdruzenje izdaja letni zbornik FORT in trikrat letno glasilo Casemate. Vsak septrember organizira letno konferenco oziroma obcni zbor, ki je praviloma na obmocju Velike Britanije in obsega tudi strokovna predavanja in obiske zanimivih objektov, sedemdnevno letno ekskurzijo v tujini ter Dan clanov.
