Joe Kaufmann and Alistair Scadden have sent their letters of concern over the fate of Milanja fortifications to Slovenian Culture Heritage Agency. Joe Kaufmann in Alistair Scadden sta poslala pismi v katerih sta Zavoda za varstvo kulturne dediscine izrazila skrb zaradi moznega unicenja utrdb na Milanji.

OREHEK AND STRANE 19.10.2003 This was supposed to be a private trip, but since we were joined by Vladimir Tonic and his colleague Ivica Dernovsek from Rijeka, Croatia it can easily be qualified as a SiteO group excursion. Locals showed us many Vallo Alpino positions near the villages of Orehek and Strane. Hope that details soon will appear on the new site by Vladimir Tonic. An announcement: the next excursion shall take us to Godovic. It's forts were eluding us but now Vladimir and Alessandro have finally located them all. If interested mail to ajstudio(et)k2.net. OREHEK IN STRANE 19.10.2003 Izlet je bil sicer misljen kot zaseben. Ker pa sta se nam pridruzila Vladimir Tonic in njegov kolega Ivica Drnovsek z Reke, ga mirno lahko oznacimo tudi kot ekskurzijo regijske skupine SiteO. Pod vodstvom domacinov smo si ogledali stevilne polozaje Alpskega zidu okrog vasi Orehek in Strane. Upam, da se bo podrobnejse porocilo kmalu pojavilo na novi spletni strani Vladimirja Tonica. Se napoved: naslednja ekskurzija naj bi bila ogled utrdb v Godovicu, ki so se nam doslej izmikale, zdaj pa sta jih Vladimir in Alessandro koncno vse locirala. VISITING CZECH FORTIFICATIONS On 22nd-26th August there was a small SiteO(C&SE) organised excursion to the fortifications of Czech Republic. Forts along the Northern, then German and presently Polish border were built in thirties and are rather well known. It will take more time to prepare a thorough report so let me just say that we were greatly impressed by what we saw. This considers forts themselves as well as the amazing enthusiasm and efficiency of the people restoring and maintaining them! OBISK CESKIH UTRDB V okviru SiteO se nas je majhna skupinica od 22 do 26 avgusta odpravila na ogled trdnjav, ki so jih v tridesetih letih prejsnjega stoletja Cehi zgradili na severu drzave ob tedanji nemski oziroma sedanji poljski meji. Za podrobnejso predstavitev poti in vtisov bo potrebno vec casa. Vendar lahko ze recem, da smo bili zelo navduseni nad tem, kar smo videli. To se nanasa tako na same utrdbe, kot tudi na entuzijazem in ucinkovitost tistih, ki jih obnavljajo in vzdrzujejo. CHARINTIAN WW1 FORTRESSES There is an exhibition called "Kartner Grenzbefestigungen" or "Charintian Fortifications" open from June 7 to October 13 2003 in the 1915-1918 Museum in the Kotschach-Mauthen Town Hall. KOROSKE UTRDBE Od 7. junija do 13. oktobra je v muzeju 1915-1918 v mestni hisi mesta Kotschach-Mauthen odprta razstava o utrdbah prve svetovne vojne "Kartner Grenzbefestigungen" oziroma "koroske utrdbe".
