When it comes to military history re-enactments we can speak of two general views. So-called "Traditional units" ("tradizionsregiment" in German) tend to concentrate on maintaining the memory of one particular unit. On the other hand the "re-enactment" associations are mainly composed of friends of historical uniforms and military history in general, participating in the re-enactments of historic events.

In first case the main aim of activities is the memory and tradition of one particular unit. Members will participate in commemorative events but not in the events whose aim is also promoting tourism in certain areas.

In the second case the unifying force is common interest in old uniforms and military history. Members of this kind of associations may have more than one type of uniform and can re-enact units of different armies and periods.

The border line between these two views is often blurred. But considering the uneasy history of this area and especially the second world war when many Slovenians became victims of Nazi-German and Fascists occupation, the author of this site believes that for Slovenia the second form is generally more suitable. The absence of traditionalism removes the anxiety over nostalgia for periods when this areas were governed by foreign rulers. It gives room to build friendship between one time friends and foes alike. At the same time this sort of attitude can contribute to tourist promotion of the country which, even thou a great progress has been made lately, still lacks in richness considering the given country's assets.

In this regard the guidelines set out by the European Union of Re-enactment Associations can be of great help since they encourage nourishment of international friendship and co-operation and in this light advice older periods rather than the second World War whose memory is still ideologically and emotionally charged.

Poglede na vojaökozgodovinsko ponazoritveno dejavnost lahko v grobem razdelimo na dve osnovni skupini. Tako imenovane tradicionalne enote (nemöko "tradizionsregiment") negujejo tradicijo doloËenih enot. V drugem primeru pa gre za zdruûenja ljubiteljev starih uniform, ki soedelujejo pri ponazoritvah posameznih zgodovinskih dogodkov (angleöko "re-enactments").

V prvem pirmeru je v ospredju delovanja ohranjanje izroËila posamezne enote in pripadniki tradicionalistiËnih zdruzenj se zato redno udeleûujejo spominskih prireditev, le redko ali sploh ne pa ponazoritev, katerih namen je predvsem obogatitev turistiËne ponudbe nekega kraja.

V drugem primeru zdruûuje udeleûence ponazoritev predvsem ljubezen do zgodovinskih uniform in vojaöke zgodovine nasploh. Tovrstna zdruûenja imajo zato neredko veË vrst uniform in lahko upodobijo enote razliËnih vojska in obdobij.

LoËnica je seveda velikokrat zabrisana. A glede na burno zgodovino slovenskega ozemlja in zlasti drugo svetovno vojno, ko so mnogi Slovenci postali ûrtve nacistiËno-faöistiËne okupacije, avtor te strani meni, da je za naö prostor vendarle primernejöa druga oblika, ki ne vsebuje tradicionalizma kot kljuËnega motiva in torej ne naklazuje nostalgije za obdobji, ko je bilo naöe ozemlje pod tujo vladavino, paË pa vzpodbuja ustvarjanje prijateljskih vezi tako med nekdanjimi prijatelji, kot med nekdanjimi sovraûniki. Prav tako pa lahko bistveno prispeva k obogatitvi turistiËne ponudbe, ki kljub velikemu razvoju v zadnjih letih öe zdaleË ni popolna.

Pri tem so lahko v dragoceno pomoË smernice Evropske zveze ponazoritvenih zdruûenj, ki povdarjajo mednarodno prijateljstvo in sodelovanje in v tej luËi svetujejo starejöa zgodovinska obdobja ter zaradi ideolo¼kega in Ëustvenega naboja odsvetujejo tematiko druge svetovne vojne.
