Italy being a relatively big country only it's North-Eastern part belongs to the Alpe-Adria area presented in this virtual gallery of pictorial maps.
Unlike the so-called young (or better to say newly independent) nations of the Alpe-Adria area such as Slovenia or Croatia, Italy is a country well known worldwide. This is mainly thanks to it's rich history, picturesque architecture, many talented artist and somewhat less so because of it's ingenious engineers.
